Obituary

Charles Eldie Carlson, age 89, of Lakewood, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Warren Manor. Chuck was born on June 25, 1935, in Jamestown, NY to the late Eldie and Linnea Wickmark Carlson.

Chuck grew up with his brother and sisters in a house his father built on Fardink Road in Ashville, NY, and graduated from the Old Chautauqua High School in 1953. His working years were spent at Art Metal Corporation, Blackstone, and finally Cummins Engine from which he retired.

On February 14, 1958, he married Virginia Anderson and together they raised four children in a wonderful neighborhood on Shadyside Avenue in Lakewood.

Chuck enjoyed bowling, auctions, cars, tractors, mowing, and tinkering in his garage. In retirement, he enjoyed being a mall walker, being a member and traveling with the West Ellicott Senior Citizen Group and being a Yankees fan traveling with his brother to NY, Cleveland, and Toronto to see them play. He also enjoyed county fairs and country music having seen some of the "real" country music stars with his wife Virginia.

Mostly, Chuck was a family man and will be remembered for being a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Chuck is survived by his four children: Kimberly Lombardo (Stephen) of Jamestown, NY, Daniel Carlson (Laurie) of Ashville, NY, Clinton (Debbie) Carlson of Russell, PA, and Penny Gesaman (John Silk) of Jamestown, NY; his grandchildren, Kristin Labesky of Warren, PA, Korey Carlson of Buffalo, NY, Andrew Gesaman of Ashville, NY, Brandon Gesaman of Ashville, NY, and Megan Trask (Beau) of Russell, PA; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Loomis of Lakewood, NY; as well as many nieces and nephews.
