Katherine H. Calimeri, 79, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2026 at UPMC Hamot.

She was the wife of Carl Calimeri whom she married on July 5, 1969.

Katherine was born in Jamestown on Dec. 7, 1946, a daughter of the late Jerome and Mary Fox Hendrickson. A 1964 graduate of Jamestown High School, she attended JCC, earned her bachelor's degree at SUNY Brockport and master's degree at SUNY Fredonia.

She taught social studies at Falconer, Southwestern and retired in 2004 from Jamestown High School. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Church where she volunteered helping to serve funeral luncheons.

Along with her husband Carl, surviving are their two daughters, Elizabeth (Ron) Powers and Sarah McCrea, both of Jamestown; four grandchildren: Raegan Powers of Jamestown, Taegen MacCrea of Wellsville, NY, Ronan MacCrea of Andover, NY, and Silas Watson of Jamestown; and two sisters. Sarah Isbell Twitchell of Lakewood and Margaret DiDominico of Jamestown.

In addition to her parents, Katherine is preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Fitzgerald and Martha Wirsen.

A private family service will be held, and visitation will not be observed.

The family suggests memorials be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or to the Busti Library.
