Kathleen B. Sloan, 80, of Gerry, NY, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2026 at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing.

She was the wife of Merwyn C. Sloan whom she married in 1980.

Kathy was born in Jamestown on Dec. 26, 1945, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Ruth Farnham Pratt, and was a graduate of Cassadaga Central School. In earlier years, she worked as a hairdresser locally, followed by many years as a sewer for the Resource Center.

Kathy obviously enjoyed sewing, was a great quilt maker, and painting some of the many wood creations made by her husband. Together, they looked forward to wintering in Avon Park, Fla.

Along with her husband Merwyn, surviving is a son, Jason Straight and grandson, Brandon Straight, both of Michigan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Abbott and Delores Davidson.

Following Kathy's wishes, there will be no service or visitation.
