Robert
Widrig
Mar 30, 1939 — Jul 11, 2026
Robert S. Widrig, 87, of Sugar Grove, died Saturday July 11, 2026, in the Rouse Home with family by his side.
He was born March 30, 1939, in Jamestown, a son of the late Robert and Arlene Johnson Widrig.
His career as a sheet metal worker spanned 41 years, first working for Sprinchorn Inc and later for Kings Heating.
He was a member of the AMVETS and Sons of the Legion, both in Sugar Grove.
Bob enjoyed trap shooting, trips to the Deerassic Classic, trips to Topsail Island, and working with his hands for family and friends. He could fix anything. We will all miss his sense of humor and listening to him trade sassy comments with all his friends.
Surviving is his wife Anne Williams Widrig, whom he married May 28, 1957; three children Barbara (Steven) Reynolds of Summerville, SC, Patricia (Craig) Briggs of Kannapolis, NC and James (Jamie) Widrig of Sugar Grove; grandchildren Joshua Reynolds, Kevin Reynolds, Jamie (Sandy) Reynolds, Jodee (Dennis) Hallett, Aaron (Shelby) Widrig, Hillary (Alex) McCandless, Jasen (Angel) Widrig, Krysten Small, and Justin (Morgan) Widrig, along with sixteen and one half great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by stepfather Harold Curtis; two children Joan Widrig and Robert Widrig and five siblings Joann Hobart, Duane Widrig, Pat Zimmer, Kathy Bradley and Jim Widrig.
A celebration of life will be held at a date in August to be announced.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Chautauqua County Humane Society or Lander Volunteer Fire Department.
