Sonja E. Bush, 87, of Bemus Point, passed away on Monday June 30, 2025 surrounded by her children, in Westfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 14, 1937, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Eric and Lucinda Johnson.

She was a graduate of Southwestern Central School and Jamestown Business College.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Chautauqua County Department of Social Services.

She was a member of the Chautauqua County Classic and Antique Boat Society, Viking Lodge and its Dam Koren. Sonja also enjoyed playing the organ.

She will be remembered for the beautiful gardens she tended for the Village of Bemus Point and the Town of Ellery.

Surviving are three children Eric Brown and Lisa Sample both of Jamestown and Richard Brown of Springfield, OH; stepchildren Cynthia Keech of South Carolina and Douglas Bush of Forestville; grandchildren Jessica Sample-Hall, Ashley MacIntyre, Amanda Brown, and Erick Brown; step grandchildren Michael, Jason, and Stephen Keech and two great grandsons Waylon and Wilder Hall.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Bush, who died July 19, 2019.

The funeral will be held at 11 am Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
